DIY Scary Fairy Garden

Make a fun festive fall decoration!  Kids 8+ are invited to make a spooky scary fairy garden! Choose from the supplies we have on hand, or get creative with some of nature's beautiful bounty.  Please sign up in advance, as supplies are limited.

Cartoon Character workshop with Matt Holm

Matthew Holm is an author and illustrator and he's made more than 50 books for children, including graphic novel series like BABYMOUSE, Squish and Sunnyside Up. He lives right here in Esopus!  


Join us for this cartoon character workshop for kids, as Matthew demonstrates ways to use visual cues and clues to convey to readers who your character is and how to put multiple characters together to generate stories.
Please register so we can set-up accordingly.

Intro to Coding Club!

Thursday, October 12 at 5pm

Come find out more about our new resource, Fiero Code. Through this web-based educational software, kids will learn computer programming skills through a series of tutorials and projects. They will work towards building websites, video games, phone apps, animations and more, all the while, learning how to become better problem solvers and critical thinkers. 


The software is geared for kids ages 8-18 and will guide students through a learning journey that includes project-based learning, story-based learning, and incorporates many fun gamification elements.

Friday the 13th:

Dare to Beware

Friday, October 13 at 6:30pm

The library closes at 6 pm...but when the wind starts to blow, the leaves begin to rustle, and Friday the 13th falls in October, the library stays open for some spooky (and not-so-spooky) fun! Take a plunge in our haunted Duck Pond (no swimsuits required) to hunt for creepy creatures, muster the courage to encounter some sensational spooks, and rally with at a real-life reptile show. This after-hours event is sure to be a scream for kids, teens and families.

Goosebumps: Slime & Movie

Saturday, October 14 at 11am

It wouldn't be spooky season if you didn't get GOOSEBUMPS! Join us for a morning of family fun. Make your own slime and grab a seat for a viewing of Goosebumps (2015, Rated PG). 

Registration is required to ensure we have enough supplies! Please register one member of your group and let us know the total number of attendees and slime kits needed.
