Marisa Scheinfeld is a Jewish American photographer and author, born in Brooklyn in 1980 and raised in the Catskills of New York. Join us in our community room for her lecture on the rise, fall and impact of the Borscht Belt

This is a part of the Burroughs Brunch series, which features topics and authors of local and naturalist interest, highlighting our John Burroughs Collection. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.

Chair Yoga

Chair Yoga is for anyone who would like to support a healthy body and mind --- the only requirement is a chair!

Facilitator Kathy Schneider-Doyle creates a safe space for movement & balance, sitting and standing. The practice of yoga has been shown to improve flexibility and range of motion, improve balance, support healthy joints by building muscle strength, enhance breathing & promotes mental calmness.

Lecture: Effect of Urbanization on Bird Song

Duckpond Gallery Show:

Fran Sutherland

Closing Reception: Friday, May 29
at 6pm

Fran Sutherland, a native New Yorker, is a painter, teacher, and restorer of historic homes. Strongly influenced by Eastern aesthetics, Fran’s creative paintings synthesize both Eastern and Western formats in multi-media works. The chosen media and techniques express personal ideas, which is especially evident in her textural compositions emphasizing oil and acrylic resist techniques.

 

Her work will be on view throughout May.
