How curbside service works?
Place orders for items 3 different ways:
1. Go onto the library system catalog HERE to place a hold.
2. Or email library staff at with your requests. Please include
title, author, your name, phone number and library card number.
3. Or call the library during service hours at 338-5580
You will need your library card number when placing an order. Allow library staff 24 hours to gather items from our collection, while items from other libraries will take longer.
At this time, we are limiting book check outs to 6 items per check out, except picture books and that limit is 10. Magazines and newspapers are also available to check out.
If you don't know exactly what titles you want, tell staff what genre you would like, and we will pick titles for you.
You will be notified as usual when items are ready for pick up, AND THEN you must call, email, or click HERE to schedule a pickup time. To schedule using the link, click on the curbside pickup button on the day and time you prefer. In the pop-up, make sure that you see your name in parenthesis and then click save.
When you arrive at the library, please wear a mask. Open the front door of the library and there will be a table with a bag of your materials for you to take.
All libraries are putting returns into quarantine for 96 hours (4 days), which is the recommended amount of time of quarantine for library materials. Any fines accrued during this 4-day window will be waived.
Any fines accrued for items checked out at the time of closing in March will be waived. Fine rules will resume for items checked out as of July 6th and onward.
Be a part of a dynamic library board!
We are looking for Town of Esopus residents who are interested in joining the Board of Trustees. Please call 845-388-5580 or email at: to schedule a time to pick up your petition packet at the library. NYS is requiring a minimum of 18 signatures on the petitions. There will be 4 board seats available.
The petitions must be returned to the library on August 17th and the day of the vote will be September 15th!
If you have any questions, please contact the Director, Brooke Dittmar.
