September 2008
Dear Friends,
Another summer drawing to a close. Another school year about to begin. Another season to look forward to when our Town comes alive with the beauty of Fall.
And another opportunity to become a partner in Your Library by joining the "Friends of The Library" organization. The Friends are the " helping hands" of the Library. They assist the Staff in preparing for the Fall Festival, the Heritage Book Sale
and the various public functions throughout the year. Many help process the materials and used books donated to the Library, stock shelves and return the checked-in books,
magazines, DVDs, and Videos to their proper places. Some work at the Desk checking in books for our Library and sending out books requested by patrons of other Libraries. The Friends are very proud of the Book Cellar where you can purchase books in good condition for a nominal fee.
With the revenue from our Book Cellar and the Dues from the Friends memberships we were able to purchase a Circulation Desk scanner,
tables for the meeting and activity room downstairs, a holding rack for the tables, large print books and travel books and new DVDs.One common thread unites all the Friends and that is the pride felt in belonging to such a worthwhile organization.
At the monthly meetings you would get to know these dedicated volunteers. You would also get to know our most knowledgeable Staff
who make Your Library such a homey and pleasant place and do all in their power to answer any questions our patrons may have.Won't you please join us by renewing your membership? We would also like to welcome many new members,
so please pass this information on to your friends and family. Dues start at just $10.00 a year and as you have read are used in so many ways.
Whether you can be an active or inactive member your ideas and input would be most welcome.Thank you,
- Become a part of YOUR LIBRARY!
- Become a part of YOUR COMMUNITY!
