Annual Membership Drive October 07-08
Dear Friends: September, 2007
As autumn approaches we see many vital changes in our community...new roads, the building of a new Town Hall and of course our new and beautiful Town of Esopus Library on Canal Street. We now have room for all our books, for more computers and more activities. Our Library is alive and well thanks to the many people who paved the way, especially and including Mr. Taylor who endowed us with the funds to build. We are strong and we are definitely growing.
We have an outstanding staff of professionals to guide us and we have an organization to help with the problems that come along with growth. This organization is called “The Friends of the Library. This group of people are the helpers who assist the Library in so many ways. They may help stock shelves, sell lemonade at the Esopus Fall Festival, plant flowers, or even write a letter to two. There are activities for people to help whether you have only a few hours or many hours to spare.
This is the reason for my letter. Will you consider joining “The Friends of the Library? Dues is only $10 a year. You will certainly meet many varieties of friends who’s common goal is to lend a helping hand. If you are already a member....thank you for renewing your membership and thank you for all your help in making our Library such an outstanding part of our community.
Sincerely,
Diane L. McCord
